About Dr. Chiarella

Dr. David Chiarella has been practicing pediatric/adolescent psychology in the Mahoning and Shenango Valleys for over 20 years. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Youngstown State University; his Master of Arts in School Psychology from Alfred University, Alfred, New York, and his Doctor Of Philosophy in Counseling and School Psychology from Kent State University.

 

Dr. Chiarella has the following Professional Affiliations:

Dr. Chiarella is a Pediatric Psychologist in private practice in the Mahoning Valley and a consulting psychologist at the Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio. In addition, Dr. Chiarella is the Chief Clinical Officer at Trumbull Lifelines in the capacity of clinical consultation regarding behavioral and mental health issues to area agencies and staff.

Dr. Chiarella is a member of the faculty of Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, serving as an Assistant Professor of Psychology in Pediatrics. He has taught medical students and pediatric physician residents the behavioral aspects of medicine. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Youngstown State University in the Counseling Department, teaching graduate student courses on counseling and psychotherapy for children and adolescents.
 

Dr. Chiarella is also consultant for a number of other agencies that include:

  • Associates in Counseling and Child Guidance
  • Boyd’s Kinsman Home
  • Trumbull and Mahoning County Juvenile Courts
  • Trumbull County Children Services 

Dr. Chiarella is the anchor of a morning health series called “Healthy Living for Kids” on WFMJ-TV Channel 21. Dr. Chiarella appears on a bi-weekly basis to discuss child behavioral health issues. He is also called upon regularly to appear “live” on local broadcasts to server as an expert to provide the community with feedback information on the psychological needs of children.
